From the beginning of the WPA’s expansion of services beyond critical governmental affairs activities in 2007, topping the list of priorities for WPA members has been to build upon the strong foundation of evidence relating to the health enhancing properties of U.S. pistachios and continue raising awareness of those benefits. Pistachio growers had invested in research for decades, and it was a primary function of the evolving Association to make sure it was maintained and enhanced.

Increasing commitment of WPA member dollars each year for nutrition research projects has led to extraordinary opportunities for promotion of the industry’s healthy nut -- the only Green Nut -- to consumers and health professionals worldwide. Our new domestic and international marketing campaign has proven beyond our expectations that consumers respond enthusiastically to the wholesome messaging of The Green Nut.
